Jonathan Kennon Thompson Smith

Mr. Jonathan Kennon Thompson Smith of Jackson has published seven genealogical miscellanies for Henderson County.  He wishes to share this information as widely as possible and has granted permission for these web pages to be created.  We thank Mr. Smith for his generosity.  Copyright, Jonathan K. This cemetery, formerly in southwest Henderson County (old civil district three) has been since 1879 (formally, 1882) located in Chester County. This location being abandoned by the white folk it became a black folk burial ground called Frye's Point. At a point on Highway 100, a few miles west of Jacks Creek, turn onto Glendale Road, drive 4 miles, turn right onto Frye's Point Road and at .6 mile turn north onto the access lane at which, about .1 mile, is sited this burial ground.
[Note: This material was presented in vertical columns that were scanned column by column. Jonathan Smith probably typed the material switching back and forth between the left and right columns. Thus this scanned copy essentially presents the markers out of order.]
