OBITUARY

Roland Hayes Kelly was born June 2,1932 in Jackson, Tennessee the only child of Hershell and Georgia Kelly. His father preceded him in death. He departed this life March 15, 1991 while on a shopping trip with a very devoted friend, Mr. Harvey Swoope.

He received his education in the Jackson Public School System and attended Lane College. He confessed Christ at an early age and was a member of Mother Liberty C.M.E. Church. He was united in marriage to Velora Bingham on February 3,1952. He moved to Cleveland in the summer of 1953. He was employed at the Interior Steel Equipment Company for over thirty-five years and joined Lane Metropolitan C.M.E. Church under the pastorage of Reverend (now Bishop) Joseph C. Coles. He served for many years as a Sunday School teacher. He was a member of Steward Board #3, The Men's Chorus and The Senior Citizens of Lane. He was also a member of the Cleveland Chapter of The Lane College Alumni Club.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a devoted wife, Velora, his loving mother, Georgia Kelly Wisdom of Jackson, Tennessee, two daughters, Brenda Reeves of Cleveland, and Patricia Sims of Gary, Indiana. Three sons, Randall Kelly of Atlanta, Georgia, Michael Kelly of Cleveland, Ohio and Staff Sgt. Stephen Kelly of the United States Air Force, Hampton, Virginia. Two daughter-in-laws Denita and Vivian, two son-in-laws Gary Reeves and Charlie Sims III, twelve grandchildren, LaMonte, Dionne, Marquis, Alexis, Patrice, Michael, Marcylyn, Sean, Shatia, Dana, Daran and Marcus, several cousins and many friends.
