OBITUARY

  Spurgeon Jordan was born August 31, 1933 in Midway, Alabama to the late Aaron and Callie Jordan.

  He came to Akron before he was of school age when his family migrated to the area in the late 1930's. He had been a resident of the community for over 50 years and attended the Akron Public Schools. An enlisted man in the U.S. Army, he was a veteran of the Korean War. In the late 1960's, he joined the employ of the Twinsburg Chrysler Stamping plant where he worked for over 20 years. He was a member of the United Auto Workers.

  He is survived by daughter, Marilyn Reaves; grandson, Anthony Reaves; brothers, Aaron (Bessie) and Ambrose (Melva); sisters, Mary Cox and Virginia Thomas; one devoted uncle, Limar Ford; two aunts, Rose McKinard and Carrie Joseph; dear friend, Yvonne Louise Bowick; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
