Aaron B. Salant

Aaron B. Salant was born January 4, 1878 in Courland, Russia. He graduated in 1897 from City College as valedictorian of his class and the winner of about 15 prizes for scholarship. He then taught in the public schools, and in 1901 joined a company that later became Salant & Salant, Inc., apparel manufacturers. He was president of the company from 1936 to 1946, and chairman from then until his retirement in 1965.
