Sarolyn Tuten Claude Carver

Sarolyn Tuten, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Tuten, is Salutatorian of Decaturville High School, Class of 1965.  She is a member of the Annual Staff, Future Homemakers of America, Future Teachers Association, Treasurer of the Beta Club, Secretary of the 4-H Club, and a member of the Decaturville High School Band where she is also a majorette.  In the local “Voice of Democracy” contest sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, she won first place.  Sarolyn was also chosen for the citizenship award by the [Faculty].  She participated in the 17th Annual Quad State Band in Murray, Kentucky.  This year she is also a state degree candidate in the Future Homemakers of America.  She plans to attend Union University, in Jackson.

[Claude] Carver, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Howard Carver, is Valedictorian of Decaturville High School, class of 1965.  As a 4-H Club member, he has won the district 4-H club speech three times and the regional Blue Ribbon once, received a Home Improvement aware, a Forestry award, and participates in a 4-H Automotive project.  [Claude] is also vice-president of the Decaturville Future Farmers of America Chapter and has won the Future Farmers of America Creed and Speech awards.  He is a member of both the Soil and Dairy Judging Teams, and is a Parlimentary Law award winner.  Besides his many hobbies, he has played piano for six years (both classical and poplar).  In his junior year was elected Most Studious.  As a Senior he was elected Most Likely to Succeed, Most Studious and Best all Around Boy.  [Claude] plans to go to summer school at MSU, and later hopes to enter the Air Force Academy.
