Band Is Honored At Decaturville - 1964

DECATURVILLE, TENN – 52-member Decaturville School band won second place in the Band Day Parade at the University of Mississippi at Oxford.

Ten Bands took part in the Hemingway Stadium event.  The Russellville, Ala., band of 102 members took first place.

Six members of the band were selected to march with Colonel Reb’s All-Star Band.  They were Dian Brasher, Barbara Bryant, Gail Crawley, Jerry Butler, Mike Tolley and Steve Weatherford.

The band has been invited to march in the parade in Memphis Saturday when President Johnson speaks there.
