Standing in front of the historic pecan tree on Natchez Trace State Park, August 1952 are Carlie Allen (wearing overalls), Milburn Allen (boy), Minnie Sue Allen House (left) and Lorell Allen Albott. [Carlie's wife was named Magnolia.]

From left: Virgil Allen, Alexander (Alex) Allen, Emma Allen, Sarah Jane Barker Allen, Alice Allen Pettigrew. She married Steve Pettigrew and they owned the Alex Allen place when it was sold in the resettlement project to create what eventually became Natchez Trace State Park. Alex Allen died in 1918; wife Emma died 1934; buried at Mt. Comfort Cemetery, Carroll County. The family lived in the Dollar community between Mt. Comfort Church and Dollar, which had a store, post office and school.
